As some of you may have noticed we have been out-of-stock of Testors Dullcote (spray) for almost two months or so now.
We have finally had a response as to why:
Testors Dullcote (spray) contains Toluene; which is now banned within the EU. As such the "traditional" Testors Dullcote Aerosol can not be legally sold anywhere within the EU.
Testors have today informed us that they are working on a new formulation of Dullcote (spray) but it may be another couple of months before it is done and able to be shipped out to the EU.
We will announce when we have the new formulation in stock and do some testing to see if it maintains is excellent matte abilities, until then it seems sensible to avoid buying the aerosol from any other sources, as anybody selling it will be breaking the law. However, given that it has taken us almost two months to find out why though it seems likely that other retailers are not aware of the situation.

Please note that we will NOT be attending the Triples Wargames show.
Those who have attended this show will be aware that it is a sprawling affair over multiple buildings and levels with some very poor access. It also has a number of side rooms that are hard to find and can be completely blocked off by one person standing in a doorway. Last year we had such terrible placement that we probably saw less than 20% of the people attending the show, if that. The small room on the fifth floor was hot, stuffy, sweaty and virtually inaccessible to even those who managed to get to the fifth floor. All traders complained and some were moved, however others were not moved and suffered the consequences via drastically lower sales. Many of our customers told us afterwards that they could not even find our stand despite looking for up to an hour. As a consequence we had decided that the show was not viable unless we could be guaranteed better positioning and that such poor rooms were no longer given to traders, especially given that they were charged the same price for space as others in far better positions on lower floors. Despite an assurance that we would get placement in the main hall this year we have not, in fact, been given that. As such we have felt obliged to cancel this years attendance; the huge amount of work required for the show, plus traveling and accommodation, makes it economically unsound and given last years fiasco, and the broken promise of placement in the main hall, we have also decided that we will not be attending future Triples shows. This is areal shame as it is a show that we enjoy due to the great customers that regular attend....and Sheffield has some great restaurants that we will miss! At the end of the day though a show has to be economically viable and you cannot spend hundreds of pounds in travel, accommodation and stand prices to then be left in a poky side room which can hold about 20 people in conditions reminiscent of a run-down Turkish bath house. As and when Sheffield Wargames find a better venue, one that preferably provides an even playing field for all traders, then we will be happy to attend once more. In the meantime if you were hoping to see us at Triples then please accept our apologies.

We are in the process of updating the website by changing some of the navigation, removing old pages and adding new pages with new products.
We will also be adding a beta version of a search engine that should allow you to find things more easily. This re-organization will take at least 2 more weeks and you may need to check that you have the latest version of a page by pressing Ctrl-F5. |
